Midnight sun sea kayaking

Experience kayaking in the land of the midnight sun! From late May to late July, the sun remains above the Arctic Circle, providing us with 24 hours of daylight. Join us on this unforgettable kayak tour and immerse yourself in the beauty of the midnight sun.

The tour takes place in Sommarøy's stunning archipelago, a small fishing village located an hour from Tromsø, often referred to as the Arctic Caribbean. Our expert guide will choose the best spot where we can enjoy the sun for a full 24 hours as it travels across the horizon. Sommarøy, with its rich fishing heritage dating back to the Viking Age, is a picturesque village that’s worth a visit in itself.

While kayaking, you'll glide silently through the water, surrounded by incredible wildlife, from seals and otters to majestic sea eagles and curious porpoise whales that may come close. The scenery, with its sandy white beaches, crystal-clear waters, and towering 1,800-foot peaks, is nothing short of magical, especially under the midnight sun.

This is a guided tour, perfect for all skill levels—no prior kayaking experience is required. A safety briefing and introduction to sea kayaking will be provided before we set out. You can choose to paddle solo in a single kayak or share the experience in a double kayak.
