The HotSpot Sauna

Along the historic waterfront at Vervet, where Tromsø’s old shipyard once stood, you’ll find The HotSpot – a modern floating sauna facility inspired by maritime heritage. The design combines steel and wood with round porthole windows, echoing the area’s industrial past while offering a sleek and inviting space to unwind by the sea.

Guests have access to changing rooms, showers with fresh (& cold) water, and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Tromsø sound. After a heat session, step straight into the sea for a refreshing dip before returning to the warmth inside.

At The HotSpot by Vervet Adventures, we want every visit to be relaxing, social, and safe. Our saunas are designed for comfort and well-being — but as with all experiences close to the sea, a few simple guidelines help make sure everyone enjoys their time responsibly.

Getting ready for your sauna visit is easy. Simply book your session, bring the essentials, and enjoy the perfect combination of warmth, sea and city views.

Before your visit

Your personal access code will be available on your visit day through the link "Go to booking" in your booking confirmation. The code is valid during your booked time.

Please arrive a few minutes before your session begins.

What to bring

• Swimwear

• Towel to sit on in the sauna

• Extra towel for drying off

• Non-metal water bottle

• Sandals or bathing shoes

• Padlock for the lockers

Facilities

The HotSpot offers:

• Two floating saunas (Styrbord & Babord)

• Direct access to the sea

• Separate changing rooms (men, women, unisex)

• Cold showers

• Lockers

• Rooftop terrace with views over Tromsø

During your visit

• Do not jump or dive from the platform.

• The sea can be extremely cold. Listen to your body and leave the water immediately if you feel uncomfortable.

• If you feel dizzy or unwell while using the sauna, leave the heat, cool down, and seek assistance if needed.

• Respect your booked time and be considerate of other guests.

Good to know

• Only fresh water may be used on the sauna stones.

• Food, alcohol and smoking are not permitted.

• Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

• If you have any medical concerns, please consult your doctor before using the sauna.

Relax | Refresh | Repeat

The HotSpot features two distinct saunas:

• Styrbord, the sauna with a yellow door, offers an intimate and calm atmosphere for up to 8 guests.

• Babord, the sauna with a blue door, is also perfect for groups of up to 8-10 guests. The distance between the benches and the sauna heater is bigger in the Babord Sauna, so you get a more open atmosphere.

For drop-in sessions the capacity is 8 for both saunas.

The names of our two saunas, Styrbord and Babord, come from the Norwegian words for starboard and port side on a ship. They reflect the maritime history of Vervet, once home to Tromsø’s old shipyard — and a place where craftsmanship and the sea have always been closely connected.
