The general terms and conditions apply to rental of stand-up paddle (SUP) boards. In addition, the following terms and conditions applies:
1. You must be over 18 years old and know how to swim.
2. Children over 10 years old can use the board with parental consent and supervision.
3. SUP activities should not be practiced more than 150 meters from the shoreline.
4. It is not allowed to rent the board in a state of intoxication. The lessor reserves the right to cancel the rental for individuals who are obviously intoxicated.
5. The participant(s) must be in sufficient health to practice SUP and water sports in general.
6. Weight limitations of the boards must be respected.
Renters’ responsibilities and duties:
1. All use is at the user's own risk.
2. The renter is responsible for familiarizing themselves with and adhering to local guidelines and rules for the use of SUP boards. This includes always wearing a CE-approved life/paddle vest when using the SUP board which is mandatory by Norwegian Law.
3. Be considerate of your surroundings (including other people and animals).
4. Be cautious of weather conditions, particularly wind. Avoid paddling in strong winds or adverse weather conditions that could pose risks to your safety. Always check weather forecasts before heading out and consider postponing or going to a more weather protected area for the day of your SUP rent.
5. The renter is advised to have a travel and accident insurance for themselves and the rented items.
6. Do not exceed 1 adult and 1 child per board, and make sure that the board has sufficient weight capacity to support the combined weight. Never exceed the weight capacity of the SUP board.
7. Do not leave the equipment unattended and take care of the equipment as it was your own. Replacement of lost or damaged equipment will be invoiced according to the price list below. Normal wear and tear does not contribute to liability for compensation. Tears, scratches, cuts, and other damage due to improper/careless use will be charged for repair or replacement if necessary.
8. The renter must report faults, damages, or deficiencies as soon as possible after detecting the fault/damage. Take a picture of the damage and reach out by phone or email (can be found in the booking confirmation). After you have completed the damage report, return the board to us and we will refund the rental fee. If possible, and the renter wants to reschedule the rental period to a different date, we will accommodate for that.
9. Return the equipment by the agreed-upon time. Late returns will incur an additional fee, and the renter is responsible for all losses incurred by the lessor due to late return, even if they are not personally at fault.
10. If the equipment is damaged or lost during the rental period, you must notify us when returning the equipment. In the event of damage to rental equipment, the renter will be charged the cost of repairing/replacing the equipment.
11. Subleasing or lending to others without the lessors consent is not permitted.
Charges for delayed delivery, or replacement of damaged or lost equipment:
• Late delivery fee of NOK 199 per hour per board.
• Lost or damaged fin or safety leash NOK 400 (each).
• Lost or damaged pump or SUP bag NOK 600 (each).
• Lost or damaged paddle or life vest NOK 900 (each).
• Lost or damaged board NOK 6000.
Lessors’ responsibilities and duties
1. The lessor is obliged to have the equipment available in good condition at the time of the rental.
2. All use of our services is at the customer’s and participants’ own risk. The lessor is not responsible for any damages incurred in connection with the service, neither to the renter, participant, nor third party. This includes transportation of the equipment.
3. Compensation for damaged or not available equipment at the time of the rental corresponding to the cost of the rental.
