Begin your exciting adventure with a bus ride from Tromsø city center. After a relaxing 90-minute journey, you'll arrive in the remote area of Tamokdalen, home to our wilderness camp.
Upon arriving at Camp Tamok, your guide will warmly welcome you and provide you with essential gear, including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, to ensure your comfort and warmth for the adventure ahead. After preparations and instructions on how to control and steer the sled, you’ll set off on your unforgettable dog sledding journey!
During the dog sled ride, you will team up with another guest, sharing a sled. One person will act as the musher, guiding a team of energetic huskies through the snowy terrain, while the other enjoys the ride seated on the sled. Midway through, you’ll have the opportunity to switch roles, giving each person the chance to experience both the thrill of leading the huskies and the joy of being a passenger.
After the sled ride, you’ll visit our dog yard and spend some cuddle time with the huskies. To complete the experience, relax and warm up with a hot meal and drink by the open fire inside one of the lávvu (indigenous Sámi tents).
With lifelong memories made, it will be time to board the bus for your return trip to Tromsø. Sit back, get comfortable, and reflect on your day in the Arctic wilderness as you head back to the city center of Tromsø.
About Your Dog Sledding Activity
This advanced dog sledding adventure is considered a challenging activity with a high difficulty level. It requires all participants to have strength, fitness, and good physical condition.
Certain parts of the trail may be covered in fresh snow or include uphill sections, requiring you to assist the dogs by pushing the sled. The trail can also be narrow with sharp bends, demanding good balance for steering.
As you will be sharing the sled with another person, both of you must meet these physical requirements when swapping places halfway through the tour.
