Dog Sledding Adventure Midday - Incl. Transport

Description

Embark on a thrilling journey from Tromsø city center by bus, taking you on a scenic 95-minute ride through stunning Arctic mountains and fjords to the remote wilderness of Tamokhuset.

Upon arrival, participants will be split into two groups. The first group will gear up with thermal suits, boots, and gloves, preparing for their dog sledding adventure. After receiving instructions on steering, they'll set off on their journey through the snow-covered landscape.

Meanwhile, the second group will enjoy a visit to the dog yard, savor a hot meal, and learn fascinating facts about the huskies. After some downtime at the camp, they'll also gear up and receive instructions for their own dog sledding adventure.

When the first group returns from their ride, the groups will switch. The second group will then embark on their sledding experience, while the first group relaxes at the camp with food, drinks, and more time to visit the huskies.

After both groups have completed their adventures, it's time to board the bus back to Tromsø. Relax and reflect on your exciting day in the Arctic wilderness as you make your way back to the city.

About Your Dog Sledding Activity

Each sled is shared between two guests, with one person mushing and the other riding as a passenger. Midway through the journey, you'll have the chance to switch roles, allowing both participants to experience the thrill of mushing and the joy of the ride.

The dog sledding adventure is designed to be accessible to most, requiring only basic physical fitness. With flat and open terrain, the experience is comfortable and easy, making it a perfect winter activity for everyone.

To drive your own dogsled requires strength and fitness and a good physical condition is necessary to participate:

Some parts of the trail can be covered with a fresh layer of snow or go uphill which means in both cases you will have to help the dogs to push the sled.
The trail can be narrow and have sharp bends, which requires a good balance to steer the sled.
Since you will be sharing the sled with another person it is required for both of you to meet these requirements when swapping places halfway the tour.
Our guides are entitled to deny drivers and passengers to join this tour out of health and safety reason.
