Have you ever fantasized about witnessing the enchanting Northern Lights? Immerse yourself in the magic of the Aurora Borealis amidst the perfect conditions—a secluded, dark locale with a star-studded sky, enhanced by preceding solar storms. Picture yourself cozily seated by an outdoor fire, gazing at the northern sky. Join us at Camp Tamok, our wilderness center that provides an ideal setting for observing the Northern Lights.
Please note that this option does not include bus transportation. Kindly arrive at Camp Tamok 15 minutes before the activity begins.
At Camp Tamok, you'll be enveloped by the untouched wilderness, surrounded by darkness. The camp is strategically located far from the glow of city lights and benefits from a drier climate zone with clear mountain weather. This arid climate results in numerous cloud-free winter nights (as well as during summer).
Upon your arrival, we'll equip you with warm winter clothing and conduct a presentation on the Aurora Borealis, including tips on photographing it. Depending on weather conditions, we'll guide you on foot to different locations around the camp for optimal Northern Lights viewing. When it's time to warm up, a delicious hot meal will be served indoors around an open fire inside a traditional reindeer herder’s tent.
