Nestled in a secluded location, our camp boasts the essential elements—dark surroundings, a star-studded sky, and a cozy spot by the fire to marvel at the northern sky while staying warm.
Your adventure begins with a scenic 90-minute bus ride from Tromsø city center, transporting you to an untouched wilderness enveloped in darkness. Far from the city lights, Camp Tamok enjoys a drier climate zone, ensuring clear inland mountain weather and cloud-free night skies in both winter and summer.
Upon arrival, we provide you with warm winter clothing and offer an enlightening presentation about the Aurora Borealis, complete with photography tips. Depending on weather conditions, we guide you on foot to different vantage points around the camp for optimal Northern Lights viewing. After this magical experience, we invite you to indulge in a hot meal served inside a traditional reindeer herder’s tent.
As you unwind and warm up, the adventure concludes with a return bus journey to Tromsø city center. Cherish the memories of this extraordinary Northern Lights expedition, forever etched in your heart.

Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and we cannot guarantee if / when and in what strength they will show on the evening of your tour.
Optional to bring your own camera gear (camera and tripod): our guides will be happy to assist you with photographing the northern lights, if they appear.
