Join us for a variety of outdoor winter activities and captivating storytelling at Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park. Be inspired by the creations of professional snow carving artists, and enjoy the unique opportunity to craft your own snow sculpture.
Please note: This activity does not include bus transportation. Please arrive at Camp Tamok 15 minutes before the start of the activity.
Upon arrival, you'll have a chance to freshen up and get equipped with the warm winter clothes and boots we provide, ensuring your comfort throughout your stay. Our camp host will walk you through the day's itinerary.
You'll be divided into smaller groups to participate in various engaging experiences, some guided and others to explore on your own.
Campfire Crafting:
Learn essential survival skills from your expert guide as you take part in the art of building a campfire—key to staying warm on a chilly winter day. Gather around the fire’s warmth and light as you listen to captivating stories about the Arctic way of life and its rich culture. Grill your own sausages while we serve warm soup and hot berry juice to keep you cozy outdoors.
Snow Adventures:
Get active by navigating snow-covered terrain on tandem skis. Compete with another team for added excitement! Discover the history and evolution of skis, from traditional transportation to modern recreational and competitive uses.
Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park:
Explore the enchanting world of snow and ice sculptures within the Snow Park. Wander through a mesmerizing display of snow and ice art, navigate the snow maze, and explore our two domes. Marvel at the stunning sculptures brought to life with light, surrounded by the serene Arctic landscape.
Encounters with Arctic Wildlife:
Get up close to Northern Norway's most iconic animals. Cuddle with our huskies and visit the reindeer near the park for a memorable wildlife experience.
Snow Carving Activity:
Inspired by professional snow artists, you'll have the unique chance to unleash your creativity and carve your own snow sculpture! With guidance from an experienced instructor and working in small groups, you’ll use carving tools to shape a masterpiece from a large block of compressed snow.
Important Information:
This activity takes place entirely outdoors, exposing you to the Arctic winter elements. It’s essential to dress warmly and appropriately for the weather. While we provide thermal suits and boots, dressing in layers and wearing proper winter clothing is crucial for your comfort throughout this Arctic experience.
