Note: This option does not include bus transportation. Please arrive at Camp Tamok 15 minutes before the activity starts.
When you arrive at Camp Tamok, your guide will greet you warmly and provide you with essential gear, including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, to ensure your comfort and warmth for the adventure ahead.
After preparing and receiving instructions on how to control and steer the sled, you’ll embark on your unforgettable dog sledding adventure!
During the dog sled ride, you will team up with another guest, sharing a sled. One person will act as the musher, guiding a team of energetic huskies through the snowy terrain, while the other enjoys the ride seated on the sled. Midway through, you’ll have the opportunity to switch roles, allowing each person to experience both the thrill of leading the huskies and the joy of being a passenger.
After the sled ride, you'll visit our dog yard and spend some time cuddling with the huskies. To complete the experience, relax and warm up with a hot meal and drink by the open fire inside one of the lávvu (indigenous Sámi tents).
Following lunch, it will be time to bid farewell to the huskies and the Arctic wilderness, and return home with memories to cherish for years to come.
About your dog sledding activity:
This advanced dog sledding adventure is classified as a challenging activity with a high difficulty level. It requires all participants to have strength, fitness, and a good physical condition to participate.
Certain parts of the trail may be covered with a fresh layer of snow or include uphill sections, requiring you to assist the dogs by pushing the sled. The trail can also be narrow with sharp bends, demanding good balance for steering.
As you will be sharing the sled with another person, it is essential that both of you meet these physical requirements when swapping places halfway through the tour.
