Husky Experience & Dog Sled Driving - Early Bird Tour

Description

Update early season (21.11.24):

The dogs are eager to run, so while we wait for the snow and colder temperatures, we're using wheeled wagons instead of sleds for our husky tours.
As you will be driving the wagons and leading the husky team yourself; Be advised that this is a physically demanding activity, comparable to riding a bicycle, so a moderately decent physical shape and ability to balance is required.

Once the snow settles permanently, we'll begin using sleds again.

Driving your own team of huskies is an extraordinary experience and a must-do when visiting Northern Norway. Even if winter outdoor adventures aren’t typically your thing, this tour provides a perfect opportunity to experience this popular husky adventure and capture plenty of memorable photos.

The tour begins with a scenic 50-minute bus ride from Tromsø city center to our camp in Breivikeidet.

Upon arrival at our camp, nestled in a picturesque valley near the sea, our friendly staff will greet you. We’ll provide you with thermal suits, winter boots, hats, and mittens to ensure you stay warm and comfortable during your dog sledding adventure. Before meeting your team of huskies, your guide will give you a safety briefing and explain the basics of steering the sled.

This tour offers a brief dog sledding experience, allowing you to drive your sled at a slow and comfortable pace for about 10-15 minutes, depending on the conditions. Midway through the tour, your guide will pause to take photos of you as a dog musher before you switch places with your passenger on the sled. After the photos, you’ll sled back to camp for another 10-15 minutes.

After your sledding adventure, you’ll have the chance to bond with the huskies—enjoy all the cuddles you want!

Following your visit to the dog yard, you’re invited to our warm and cozy panorama restaurant, where you can learn more about the huskies from our knowledgeable guides while enjoying hot drinks and cake.

Once you’ve changed back into your regular clothes and said a final goodbye to the huskies, you’ll head back to the city by bus, with unforgettable memories and amazing photos to share.
