Important: This option does not include bus transportation. Please arrive at Tamokhuset 15 minutes before your activity begins.
At Tamokhuset, you'll be split into two groups. The first group will receive essential gear like thermal suits, boots, and gloves, and will get instructions on how to steer the sled. After preparation, they will embark on their dog sledding adventure.
Meanwhile, the second group will visit the dog yard, enjoy a hot meal and drinks, and learn interesting facts about the huskies. After some time at the camp, they will also be equipped with the necessary gear and given instructions for their upcoming sled ride.
Once the first group returns, both groups will switch activities. The second group will go dog sledding while the first group relaxes at the camp with food, drinks, and more time with the huskies.
After the second group’s ride, the activity concludes. Bid farewell to the huskies and the Arctic landscape as you head home with unforgettable memories.
About the Dog Sledding Activity:
You’ll share a sled with another guest, with one person mushing and the other riding. Midway, you'll switch roles to experience both guiding and riding.
This adventure is designed to be accessible for most, requiring basic physical fitness to walk on snow and assist with the sled. The terrain is mostly flat and open, making the sledding experience comfortable and enjoyable.
Level of difficulty
Medium.
To drive your own dogsled requires strength and fitness and a good physical condition is necessary to participate:
Some parts of the trail can be covered with a fresh layer of snow or go uphill which means in both cases you will have to help the dogs to push the sled.
The trail can be narrow and have sharp bends, which requires a good balance to steer the sled.
Since you will be sharing the sled with another person it is required for both of you to meet these requirements when swapping places halfway the tour.
Our guides are entitled to deny drivers and passengers to join this tour out of health and safety reason.
